At about 11:13pm Sunday, Turlock Police responded to a hit-and-run in progress in the 300 block of E. Hawkeye Avenue. A few different callers reported an either a brown, gray, or white lifted pickup truck was trying to leave the scene while missing a tire after hitting several parked vehicles. When officers arrived on scene, they found that the pickup had left and three vehicles were left at the scene. All three vehicles had been parked and unoccupied. At about 2:58pm Sunday, Turlock Police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at Village Fresh Market in the 2000 block of E. Canal Drive. The caller reported that Fernando Garcia, 36, of Turlock, a man who they’d previously had issues with, had just stolen four alcohol bottles from the business and battered an employee on the way out. Responding officers were also familiar with Garcia, as he’s hostile toward them and has resisted them in the past. At about 10:00am Friday, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense at Days Inn in the 100 block of N. Tully Road. The caller had reported finding a bullet hole on one of the room’s AC units during a walkthrough of the motel, after hearing gunshots earlier in the morning around 6am. Officers arrived on scene and determined the incident was a drive-by shooting. No specific victim was identified and no injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing. Juvenile Arrested for Murder of 19-Year-Old Outside Wayside Market

At about 6:58pm Tuesday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to an aggravated assault that had just occurred in front of Wayside Market in the 700 block of Wayside Drive. Several callers reported that a shooting had just occurred and that a victim was down in the roadway not moving. When units arrived on scene, they found two victims with gunshot wounds. At about 10:17pm Saturday, Ceres Police Officer Roseen attempted to make a traffic stop near Mitchell Road and Rosewood Avenue. Roseen was attempting to stop a motorcyclist, but he failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The motorcyclist went southbound on Mitchell Road, before continuing onto southbound State Route 99. After taking the Fulkerth Road exit in Turlock, the motorcyclist briefly drove through the westside, before exiting Turlock westbound on W. Main Street. On Tuesday, Turlock Police conducted follow-up in a juvenile molestation investigation. Detectives, posing as a 13-year-old girl, had previously communicated with Manmeet Sarang, 36, of Fremont, on various online applications. Sarang had then traveled to Turlock in hopes of meeting and engaging in sexual activity with the decoy 13-year-old, when he was instead met by detectives and investigators who arrested him. At about 1:59am Monday, Turlock Police responded to a traffic collision at a residence in the 0 block of N. Minaret Avenue. The caller was from a residence across the street in the 1100 block of East Avenue, and reported that someone had crashed into a couple of vehicles across the street at a house with a Minaret address. At about 1:28am Saturday, Turlock Police Officer Roton made a traffic stop near Bernell Avenue and Lander Avenue. Roton made contact with and identified the driver of the vehicle as Adrian Hernandez, 26, of Turlock. While speaking with Hernandez, Roton noticed he was displaying objective symptoms of being under the influence, so he removed him from his vehicle to conduct a DUI investigation. At about 5:06am Wednesday, Turlock Police responded to a suspicious person in the 900 block of Vermont Avenue. The caller reported a man was looking into vehicles in the area. Officer Juan Arroyo arrived on scene a few minutes later and located the man, later identified as Corey Pollard, 37, of Turlock. As Arroyo attempted to contact Pollard, he fled on foot. At about 12:43am Tuesday, Turlock Police Officer Ayala made a traffic stop near the El Amigo Motel in the 1500 block of S. First Street. Ayala made contact with and identified the vehicle’s three occupants, including driver Yordy Gonzalez, 24, of Turlock.
