STANISLAUS COUNTY (CBS13) — The teen hit by a distracted driver while riding her horse near Turlock mid-week has died, family members confirmed to CBS13 on Saturday. Summer Gardner-Vigil, 19, has been at Doctors Hospital in Modesto since the collision Wednesday morning. Her horse Riggs died from the impact. Garner-Vigil was riding the horse westbound on East Harding Road along the right edge of the road while a Chevy pickup truck was traveling northbound on Youngstown Road, which turns into E. TURLOCK (CBS13) – A Highway 99 wrong-way driver was killed when he hit an oncoming vehicle head-on Tuesday night in Turlock, and cell phone video captured the fiery collision. Cell phone video posted by the YouTube account Stack Bandz shows the driver narrowly missing many oncoming vehicles before the deadly collision on Highway 99 north of Fulkerth Road. This pandemic school year Nataly Frias took enough Merced College courses online to also earn two associate’s degrees, along with her high school diploma. SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An investigation into a Merced County drug trafficking operation resulted in a Turlock man’s arrest after more than $10 million worth of drugs – including meth, cocaine and heroin – was located at his Huntington Beach residence, the California Department of Justice announced on Thursday. Luis Armando Romero Jr. faces a one-count indictment for distributing meth based on an alleged sale in Merced County, the DOJ said in a news release.
