CARSON (CBSLA) — California Highway Patrol officials issued a Sigalert Sunday for upwards of three hours after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle. An incident report detailed that no vehicles were at the scene when officers arrived. They found the body in the roadway on Eastbound SR-60  just West of Archibald Avenue in Carson. CARSON (CBSLA) — A wild crime spree through Long Beach that turned into a hostage situation in a Carson church ended with gunshots and a suspect dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Three men have been indicted by a federal grand jury in the hammer robberies of half-a-dozen cell phone stores in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, and have been linked to as many as 50 similar robberies across the region. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – On Thursday, officials with LA County announced a lawsuit seeking millions in civil penalties related to the noxious odor that began emanating from the Dominguez Channel and engulfed the City of Carson in October last year. CARSON (CBSLA) – A woman was injured in a shooting involving sheriff’s deputies in Carson Wednesday. Deputies were sent about 1 p.m. to a residence in the area of East Dominguez Street and South Prospect Avenue on a family disturbance call and a person armed with a knife and a gun prior to the shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. County officials say they’re seeing an improvement in the air quality around the Dominguez Channel in Carson, where residents have been living with a nauseating odor since last month.
