A former Inglewood Police Department officer has agreed to plead guilty to a charge of distributing cocaine, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Thursday. Whittier resident John Abel Baca, 47, admitted to distributing cocaine on two separate occasions in 2021. Two people were killed and three others remain hospitalized after a shooting in Inglewood on Saturday night. A man convicted of murder in Los Angeles County was fatally stabbed in North Kern State Prison by two fellow inmates, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
