COSTA MESA (CBSLA) — An attempted murder suspect led police in a high-speed pursuit Monday on several surface streets through Orange County. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies spotted a vehicle in Bellflower Monday that matched the description of one involved in a car-to-car shooting at Marengo Avenue and Valley Boulevard in Alhambra on Saturday morning. COSTA MESA (CBSLA) — An investigation is underway in Costa Mesa, after the same suspected reportedly committed multiple sexual batteries within a three block radius in the span of an hour Thursday. Costa Mesa Police Department is searching for a male suspect, believed to be Hispanic, that is between 5-foot, 8-inches and 6 feet tall. COSTA MESA (CBSLA) — A man was arrested Friday after attempting to rob two banks in the same shopping center in Costa Mesa. Authorities were first alerted of a bank robbery in progress at around 1:45 p.m. on Harbor Boulevard. As they arrived, the suspect left the bank, as reported to the Costa Mesa Police officers by witnesses at the scene. They were able to track the suspect down at a nearby construction site where they detained him, until witnesses were able to identify him as the person who had attempted the robbery. COSTA MESA (CBSLA) — A man who was knocked out of a wheelchair by a hit-and-run driver in Costa Mesa has died, police said Friday. Costa Mesa police officers called to the intersection of Newport Boulevard and Industrial Way at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday night found a man who had been thrown from his wheelchair. The man was taken to a nearby hospital with “significant injuries” and later died, police said.
