Rock Hill is planning a transformational new 140-acre tourism park, set to be one of South Carolina’s largest and most unique.
The city is now asking for public feedback to shape this project, which aims to boost tourism revenue through its extensive green spaces, trails, tech features, and sports amenities.
The Southside Regional Park will extend from Heckle Boulevard to downtown.
The initiative has an estimated cost of over $100 million.
Rock Hill officials are developing the plan over the next two years and encourage public participation through community meetings and an online survey.

North Carolina based Mayfair Hospitality has just announced plans to open one of the largest entertainment complexes in South Carolina inside The Thread facility.
ROAR Rock Hill will feature 17,000-square-foot of duckpin bowling, mini golf, arcade games, food, drinks, and live performance stages, all with a 1920s theme (think roaring 20s).

The Arts Council of York County today announced that York County, SC nonprofit arts and culture industry generated $40.3 million in economic activity in 2022, according to the newly released Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 (AEP6), an economic and social impact study conducted by Americans for the Arts. A massive new 120 acre mixed-use development is now being planned for the historically troubled southern part of Rock Hill that will feature new homes, apartments, and small-footprint shopping areas.
Albright Commons is being spearheaded by a partnership between York Capital LLC and Albright Corners LLC in collaboration with the Clinton Connection Action Plan. Pallidus, a global semiconductor manufacturer, just announced plans to move its entire corporate headquarters to York County.
They will be investing over $443 million into a 300,000 sqft facility and create at least 405 new jobs for our region.
The new facility will be located at 1786 Overview Drive in Rock Hill.

Rock Hill and David Tepper’s now abandoned Panthers Headquarters project have just agreed to settle out of court for $20 million, according to a new court filing.
If approved, the agreement will end the dueling lawsuits between the City of Rock Hill and Tepper’s GT Real Estate and immediately transfer $20 million cash from Tepper’s accounts to the city’s.
The settlement agreement does not specifically spell out who was at fault for the failed project or exactly why the project ultimately ended.
