JOPLIN, Mo. — Over the weekend Joplin R-8 staff worked overtime to move important items to the new Dover Hill Elementary, 1100 North Main. Loading up important boxes and marked items for teachers and staff like, storage shelving, file cabinets, books, mini-fridges, etc. We spotted dozens of maintenance staff and some administrative staff flexing their muscles as opening day gets closer. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The survivor of a shooting at an Oklahoma marijuana farm that killed four people has been arrested after being released from a hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds. 44-year-old Yifei Lin was arrested last week after the Oklahoma bureau of narcotics filed notice to seize the farm west of Hennessey a town about 55 miles northwest of Oklahoma City. Lin remained jailed according to jail records, although court documents do not show that formal charges have yet been filed. ORONOGO, Mo. — Friday morning, December 9, 2022, about 7:30 a.m. reports of a structure fire near MO-96 and Prairie Meadow Lane alerted Jasper County E-911. Oronogo Fire Dept, Oronogo Police Dept and METS ambulance responded. CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — About 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, December 10, 2022, reports of a detached garage on fire at 410 west Walnut alerted Carl Junction E-911. Carl Junction Fire, METS ambulance and Carl Junction Police responded. Walnut was closed to all traffic as hoses ran across the roadway. No one was injured in the fire. Neighbors tell us there were loud booms heard as the garage was burning. It’s unknown what that could have been. There was a vehicle consumed by the fire.
