There are a slew of famous women who are proving that age is just a number, and Angela Bassett is definitely one of them. The actress, who is 61 looks just as stunning as she did when Waiting to Exhale came out back in the mid-‘90s. This Academy Award nominated actress has been in the public eye for over 20 years, yet she seems to be aging backwards. The fountain of youth (by which I mean eating right and exercising) has been good to the actress. Not to mention, the superstar glowed on the red carpet in a strapless green Azzi & Osta dress ..read more

These are tough times, to say the least. Coronavirus, COVID-19, has many of us glued to the news, people the world over are impacted by it, not knowing how this pandemic will play out has affected our physical and mental well-being - concerned for loved ones, especially the elderly - and adapting our lives to deal with the changes it is having on our homes, schools, and work-places. And for some people it’s easier to deal with the crisis than others.
I am praying for us as a global community to lift each other's spirits with the hope that these efforts inspire more of us to be other-cent ..read more

It’s never too late to start making good choices by focusing on myself. In fact, the 50s are the perfect time to prioritize my fitness. Because now that I'm older, working out isn't just about looking better - it's about feeling better and being able to maintain my mobility and health for decades to come. It's important to keep a healthy lifestyle not only after age 50 but at any age - men and women alike. Trying to stay fit after 50 to some can be intimidating if one is not into the idea of exercise of those heart-pounding, high-energy workouts. However, there are many different activities th ..read more

How you look and feel in your fifties is usually the result of how you’ve been treating yourself since you were a young girl.
Fifty - is the new 50, not the new 30, or the new 40 (those statements didn’t ring true for me). No offense, 50 is the new 50, and that’s a great thing! If it really were the new 30 or 40, I’d probably be pining to have another baby. And not to mention I think I look pretty darn good for my age!
Of course, this is something I can say because at this point in my life I feel more confident than ever before - midlife women – we really speak our mind – it’s true!

Dearest Nat,
My heart for you on your graduation day. On the first day of each school year that represented a milestone, I cried. My tears were in anticipation of your graduation day. I cried the day I first dropped you off your first day of primary school, how it broke my heart to leave you in the care of another. I took a photo. And how I prayed for your protection. I smiled and told you I loved you. But when I left you that day, I cried. And with every milestone that comes throughout secondary school, poly, there remained a lump in my throat - a million memor ..read more

Bali Ha'i
Bali Ha'i, may call me
Any night, any day
In my heart I'll hear it call me
Come away, come away
Bali Ha'i, will whisper
On the wind of the sea
"Here am I your special island, "
"Come to me, Come to me"
Your own special hopes
Your own special dreams
Bloom on the hill side
And shine near the streams
Adapted from a show tune from the 1949 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific. The name refers to a mystical island, visible on the horizon but not reachable.
