Several area schools were nominated for Cappie Awards including Coral Glades, Coral Springs, J.P. Taravella and Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Monarch, and North Broward Prep.
Nominees from 26 schools in Broward and Palm Beach will compete for the awards in 48 categories. The awards recognize performers, orchestras, designers, technicians, publicists, and critics.

It’s time to put on the garden gloves for this year’s EarthFest plant giveaway, held at the Sawgrass Nature Center in the Coral Springs Sports Complex.
EarthFest will feature nature exhibits, a community garden, raffles, smiles, and a plant giveaway. This year the city will exclusively offer all native Floridian plants, which are known to preserve water better, allowing them to thrive in South Florida weather conditions.

In a move to combat identity theft and promote secure document disposal, the Coral Springs Police Department is holding a free, touchless Shredathon event.
Held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Sportsplex, residents can bring three cardboard boxes or reusable bins per vehicle for free and up to three additional boxes with a $5 donation per box. Donations benefit the Police Explorer Program.
