Evan Zheng, manager of Richardson restaurant Hot Crab, said he thrives when the restaurant is busy. “I’m running back and forth from the back to prepare the food then bring it to the customers,” Zheng said. “We don’t want them to wait too long because they’re hungry. Richardson to offer free shuttle service to Family 4th Celebration

Due to limited on-site parking at Breckinridge Park for Richardson's Family 4th Celebration event, the city will provide a free round-trip shuttle service from its offsite parking locations. The free Family 4th Celebration is slated for 6-10 p.m. July 4 at Breckinridge Park, which is located at 3555 Brand Road, Richardson. Medical field graduates in Richardson helping curb staffing shortages

At the end of May, Methodist Richardson Medical Center had nearly 100 registered nurse vacancies to fill. Those vacancies correspond with a growing nursing shortage state officials said is happening across Texas. Projections from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services show hospitals across the state are facing shortages of nurses and other full-time employees. The demand for full-time registered nurses is expected to grow to nearly 350,000 over the next decade, Texas projections show. Richardson expands hours at Heights, Huffhines recreation centers

The city of Richardson announced earlier in June that it was changing the hours of its Heights and Huffhines recreation centers for the summer. Both recreation centers are now open 6 a.m.-10 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, 6 a.m.-9 p.m. on Fridays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays. City officials said the change returns both recreation centers to the hours at which they operated before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
