DENVER (KDVR) — Denver's newest draftee was the sixth quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he's now No. 1 in the Broncos' eyes. Former Oregon quarterback Bo Nix was introduced to the city in a press conference Friday afternoon, having been picked during the draft on Thursday night. On Friday, the team announced that their new QB would be sporting the No. 1 on his jersey. Tremon Smith, a cornerback and kick returner for the team, previously wore No. 1 on his jersey. GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Grand Junction Police Department has made an arrest in a shooting incident that left North Avenue closed between 19th and 23rd streets Thursday afternoon. Grand Junction Police officers responded to a report that someone had been shot near the 2000 block of North Avenue at about 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. The victim ran from the scene and was later found uninjured. Officers spoke with several witnesses who reported seeing a man shoot a gun at another man and then run into a nearby apartment. GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) —   Japanese beetles threaten more than 300 varieties of plants and cost an estimated $80 million dollars in damage to local crops every year. Mesa County has seen success in past years to eradicate the pests, but the beetles are still in the grand valley. Early spring is when Mesa County will spray for Japanese beetles in the "hot spot" regions affected. These areas vary from I-70 to downtown Grand Junction and all the way to the Redlands.
