Construction is underway on 3.5 miles of center-running lanes on Holt Boulevard in Ontario for the future West Valley Connector, a rapid bus system that promises travelers an alternative to the freeways between San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties. People have been posing as Ontario water-system representatives to gain entry into homes, Ontario police said. Those posing say they must test the water. Ontario police said the city’s Ontario Municipal Utilities Co.: Only performs residential visits when a customer has made a request and provided a reason. Two men were arrested on Wednesday, March 13, after a shooting in Ontario left a man dead, police said. Ontario police located a 43-year-old Ontario man who had multiple gunshot wounds on Tuesday, March 12, shortly after 7:30 p.m. Police were responding to a reported shooting at the 300 block of C Street. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation determined that the victim and suspects did not know each other. Chaffey Joint Union High School District is coping this week after a weekend of tragedy. The three students – siblings Elias and Sarah Cruz of Los Osos High School, and Feiloaki (Junior) Mateni from Rancho Cucamonga High School – died in two separate automobile crashes on March 8 and March 9.
