The Feminine Factor

When it comes to dressing, I have enjoyed many different styles. However, this year, I’m happily embracing my feminity with a newfound appreciation. I was out shopping recently and came across some lovely long dresses in very traditional flower prints with lace embellishments. I was looking for something else that day when I mused to myself…what could be better than slipping on one of these pretty dresses? I’m reminded of a quote by Tasha Tudor: “Why do women want to dress like men when they’re fortunate enough to be women? Why lose our feminity, which is one of our greatest charms? W ..read more

Simple Sunday

After a full week of very hot temperatures and high humidity, we have thoroughly enjoyed an overcast rainy day on this Sunday afternoon in August. I was determined to have some downtime and finally flip through this month’s issue of Victoria Magazine. After picking up my afternoon coffee I returned to the bliss of a quiet house where the cats greeted me sleepily from the bed. Somehow, I came to the most delightful and calming English country cottage tour of a 250-year-old Norfolk Broads Cottage surrounded by tranquil waters and beautiful gardens. I allowed myself to be guided from room to r ..read more

Hello. I hope you all had a lovely and restful fourth of July weekend and that Monday is greeting you happily. I had a very busy yet tranquil few days off. I was pleased to see the hydrangeas are really beginning to bloom. Recently, we laid down more mulch and made a few adjustments to the front yard. It's made such a difference.  I've just started to read, The Goddesses by Swan Huntley. The Goddesses is a novel about a family who arrives in Kona, Hawaii, and is desperate for a new beginning after some mishaps in their marriage. The main character, Nancy, begins to take yoga clas ..read more

Image Credit: Brighton.com | Hurley Soft Satchel | Blue Water Collection | Retails $315. Today I'm sharing a review with you on one of the new bags I'm carrying for the summer. It's the very coastal and very chic Brighton Hurley Soft Satchel from their Blue Water Collection inspired by the art of designer Lisa Spayd-Sendre. Her beautiful designs which began from watercolor artwork are based on years spent with her family on Sanibel Island. I'm absolutely in awe of how she translated her art designs into the Hurley Soft Satchel. I've brought you an in-depth look here a ..read more

Life Update: Navigating this Strange In-Between Time

Hello friends~ How are you? Well, I hope. I have been occupied in the throws of this total life changeup called Covid 19 effecting the world over. For me, that has meant so many different things. First, understanding the gravity of it followed by preparation mode. Then, the total shutdown that has seen my husband working from home and my children missing out on the end of their school year. New guidelines of keeping my home cleaned and sanitized and the overall attempts to self-isolate have been, for the most part endless, making it harder to feel one's usual sense of ease. I have not be ..read more

I find a new sense of gratitude for each day. I'm still trying to grasp the reality of this worldwide pandemic that is most certainly changing our existence in ways we can not yet comprehend.  These images are part of my creative expression. The process is calming for me and in that artistic flow, the world seems to fade away for a while.  Some jewels are anchor pieces, such as this Ann Taylor enamel bracelet. It's a nod to Blue Willow, often seen in the world of home design. Of course, what makes enamel a must-have is its artistic element. These beautiful pieces are a little more e ..read more

My Over Forty Skincare: Elizabeth Arden Millenium

Elizabeth Arden Millenium emulsions are a favorite part of my over forty skincare and I have actually been reaching for them faithfully since my early thirties. In fact, even in my twenties, I would opt for anti-aging skincare because I liked how nourished my skin felt. When we returned from our trip from New York starting up my skincare routine again was on the top of my list. When I came across this trio of lotions from Elizabeth Arden I didn't even have to think twice. Not only is this an amazing beauty buy but it's one that's remained true over the years. I love how rich thes ..read more
