SPRING LAKE, Mich. (WOOD) — Dr. Rolf's Barbeque is celebrating the grand opening of its new Spring Lake location. It opened a new restaurant Tuesday at 971 W Savidge St. off of US-31, the former Old Boys' Brewhouse spot. Owner Judy Hissom said things went well overall and she hopes to have everything ironed out by the weekend. Dr. Rolf's first opened in downtown Muskegon five years ago, named after Hissom's husband, Dr. Rolf Hissom. MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed in a Friday morning crash in Muskegon. Around 5:50 a.m., officers with the Muskegon Police Department were sent to US-31 near E Sherman Boulevard for a crash. Responding officers learned that a 29-year-old Muskegon man was attempting to cross the road and was hit by a passing vehicle. He died at the scene. MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A Norton Shores woman accused of animal neglect after dozens of dogs were removed from her home will not receive any additional jail time. Lisa Cober was sentenced Monday by Judge Matthew Kacel in Muskegon Circuit Court. In lieu of jail, Cober has been sentenced to 5 years of probation and 100 hours of community service. MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a man and two teens were injured in a shooting in Muskegon Tuesday night.
