Security cameras were rolling when two masked thieves ran into a Connecticut jewelry store and smashed their way into glass display cases. The Fairfield County incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in Westport at the Lux, Bond, and Green shop on Main Street. Westport Police said two individuals wearing gloves, masks, and hooded sweatshirts entered the business and began smashing display cases with sledgehammers. A Connecticut man who allegedly shot two people with a pellet gun and then threatened to shoot himself in the head has been charged by police. New Haven County resident David Bertuglia, age 47, of Hamden, was charged on Thursday, May 9, for the Wednesday, April 24 incident in Hamden. According to Lt. A man shot by two Connecticut police officers has been charged with alleged attempted assault on a police officer after his release from the hospital. Five teens have been nabbed by police in Fairfield County for a car theft. Alex Gutama, age 18, of Danbury, and four juveniles were arrested by Greenwich Police on Wednesday, May 8. A New York man is accused of pulling out a knife on another driver on a Connecticut roadway, police said. A wrong-way driver crash in which four people were reportedly killed has closed part of the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) in Fairfield County.
