A Victorville woman is dead after her vehicle collided with a semi-trailer truck late Tuesday night.
At 11:23 p.m., a gray Honda Civic driven by Esperanza Guerra, 44, and a red Freightliner Cascadia crashed into each other at Nisqualli Road and Sixth Avenue, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Despite the lifesaving efforts of first responders, Guerra was declared dead at the scene.
The investigation closed Nisqualli Road between Seventh and Fourth avenues for several hours.
As of Wednesday morning, the cause of the crash has not been released.

The teen killed by deputies in Victorville Tuesday was a foster youth experiencing a mental health issue, San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus announced in a Wednesday morning press conference.
The 17-year-old boy, whose identity has not been released, was a resident of Hesperia, though he had been involuntarily committed using a 5150 hold three days before the deadly encounter after he cut his wrists.

A Los Angeles man faces multiple charges after he allegedly threatened an employee at a Victorville 7-Eleven and displayed his gun in the process.
Eric Lavell Taylor, 66, entered the store in the 15700 block of Roy Rogers Drive at about 6:30 p.m.. Wednesday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Employees at the 7-Eleven told Taylor he was not allowed inside and was trespassing, but he "refused to leave and made his way around the store," the release said.
He then "threatened to shoot up the location and the victim," authorities added.

Two juveniles were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services after a narcotics investigation led to the arrests of two men and a woman in Victorville earlier this week.
Investigators served a search warrant on Tuesday at a home in the 15500 block of Second Street, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
"During service of the warrant, investigators located suspected methamphetamine, paraphernalia, marijuana, seven marijuana smoking devices and a large amount of U.S. currency within the residence," the Sheriff's Department stated.

Three deputies responding to a call in San Bernardino County earlier this week helped a mother deliver a baby boy, authorities announced Thursday.
The deputies were called to the 14300 block of Mcart Road in Victorville just after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
They arrived to find a mother in active labor with a baby "who decided he couldn't wait until mom got to the hospital," the S.B. Sheriff's Department stated in a news release.

A stolen vehicle suspect was arrested after leading deputies on a dangerous pursuit through San Bernardino County.
The suspect was identified as Raezahntae Edward Baird, 26, from Norco, according to the Victorville Police Department.
On March 12, officers spotted a 1998 Honda sedan that had been reported stolen out of Cabazon. The vehicle was found at a Walmart parking lot on the 11800 block of Amargosa Road in Victorville.
Deputies later witnessed Baird entering the driver's seat of that stolen vehicle.

A Spring Valley Lake couple is dead after what appears to be a murder-suicide, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.
Luis Fernando Urgiles, 45, and Claudia Carmen Urgiles, 40, were found dead on Saturday at their home in an unincorporated area near Victorville, two days after Claudia Urgiles' family reported her missing to the SBSD, officials said in a news release.
When deputies arrived at the home in the 17900 block of Vista Pointe Drive to serve a search warrant, they found "Claudia and Luis deceased inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds," the SBSD said.

A woman was arrested after police said she attempted to run over a hospital security guard in Victorville on Friday.
The suspect was identified as Lynn Duenaslujan, 51, according to the Victorville Police Department.
Officers responded to the Victor Valley Global Medical Center at around 1:25 p.m. Hospital staff said the suspect, who was driving a Toyota Corolla, tried to run over a security guard near the emergency room before driving away.

A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a U-Haul truck and driving the wrong way on a San Bernardino County freeway.
The suspect was identified as David Robert Sikora, 37, according to the Victorville Police Station.
On Jan. 31, officers received reports of a stolen box truck from a local U-Haul business. The next day, the stolen truck was spotted near Seventh Street and La Paz in Victorville.

The pursuit of an allegedly stolen SUV in Victorville Wednesday morning resulted in a man's arrest and the discovery that his female passenger had been kidnapped, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.
