According to the CDC, in the last 20 years, the number of adults diagnosed with Diabetes has more than doubled. 34.2 million adults suffer with Diabetes. It is the 7th leading cause of death. Life time risk of developing a foot ulcer for someone with Diabetes is 25%. These ulcers have an increased risk of infection and can lead to possible amputation. Diabetics have the increased potential to develop “Neuropathy”, which is a reduced, or complete lack of ability, to feel pain in the feet due to nerve damage, usually caused by elevated blood glucose levels over time. Dining for Charities Program Donates $3,251 to Feeding the Valley

Thank you to the community for eating at our Dining for Charities restaurants! Because of your support, Dining for Charities donated $3,251 to Feeding the Valley. Cold and dry air continues to filter into the region. This will bring tonight’s temperatures down into the mid 30s (if not colder) in spots. There will be a FROST ADVISORY in effect for a majority of our viewing area through tomorrow morning. The humidity is also very pleasant with dew points in the 20s and 30s due to the extremely dry air blanketing the area. The weather this weekend is going to be awesome, so get out there and enjoy it if you can. Dry, cool air continues to filter in making for very comfortable humidity and rain-free conditions, although a few sprinkles are possible on Sunday ahead of another could front. It remains windy with gusts up 20 mph not out of the question through Sunday. For Saturday, we’ll see lots of sunshine with highs getting into the upper 60s leading to the mid 50s on Saturday night. Zeta is gone and we’re in the wake of a cold front, so get ready for some awesome weather over the long stretch. Cooler and drier air will bring the humidity down to very comfortable levels and also keep us rain free at least through the middle part of next week although there could be a few sprinkles kicked up by another cold front projected to push through on Sunday. Highs for Friday through the weekend will be in the 60s and 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s.
