Tyneside group Pit Pony have returned with their searing new single, ‘Accidental Doom’, their first release since their debut record, World To Me in 2022.
With a grittiness that builds throughout the track, ‘Accidental Doom’ tears through hammering choruses, battling unflinchingly before simmering away into a soft instrumental breakdown, and rising to culminate in a final, unrelenting, heavy wall of sound.
‘Accidental Doom’ strikes blows with both its lyricism and instrumentation, with lead singer Jackie Purver exploring some of the difficulties that come with being a woman in music. “A lot of ..read more

The Queens of stoner rock are back after almost a 6-year hiatus, with their latest album ‘In Times New Roman…’. Dubbed to reflect the brutality of “what it feels like to be alive right now” by frontman and grunge icon Josh Homme, the 5-piece taps into personal tragedy and emotional anguish to deliver one of their most poignant records yet.
It’s been no secret that Josh has endured a rough few years, dealing with the loss of close friends and even a cancer diagnosis (to which he’s had successful surgery – thank f**k). Whilst you can find all of this out with a quick Google of the geezer’s name ..read more

Playing to a sold out, lively crowd at Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Friday evening, Arctic Monkeys showed that they still have the charm.

Four and a half years on from their last tour, Arctic Monkeys have a whole new album of tracks to choose from – but only 3 made it into the setlist. Instead, the four-piece, made up of Turner, Nick O’Malley, Matt Helder ..read more
