READING, Pa. (CBS) — A man is behind bars in Reading after allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager on her way to school. The suspect is Sean Samuels.

Police say he abducted the girl last Wednesday morning.
Samuels then allegedly took the girl to a different place and sexually assaulted her twice.

READING, Pa. (CBS) — One person is dead and three others are injured after a shooting at a Berks County park. Chopper 3 was over Brookline Park in Reading where authorities say the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

READING, Pa. (CBS) — A contractor working for a Berks County school is accused of trying to lure a 13-year-old girl. Police say Jeremy Kreiser thought he was talking to the young teen on social media.
They say he tried to get the girl to meet him outside the Reading Elementary School where he was working.
It turns out he was chatting with an undercover police officer.

READING, Pa. (CBS) — Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf will visit the Berks Community Health Clinic on Wednesday morning. Wolf is expected to encourage residents to participate in an upcoming walk-in vaccine clinic that will offer all COVID-19 vaccines, boosters and pediatric vaccines for anyone eligible.

ORLEANS, Mass. (CBS/AP) — The Coast Guard suspended its search for a small plane that took off from Berks County and was reported missing off the coast of Massachusetts. The search was suspended at 9:30 a.m. after several vessels and aircraft spent 55 hours covering more than 2,000 square miles (5,180 square kilometers) of ocean off Cape Cod without finding any sign of the missing pilot or plane, the Coast Guard said in a statement.

LANCASTER, Pa. (CBS) — Eight Pennsylvania cities were ranked among the top 30 places to retire in the United States. The U.S. News and World Report released the 2021-2022 Best Places to Retire rankings on Tuesday.
Lancaster was ranked No. 5 and Allentown, the third-largest city in Pennsylvania, jumped 29 spots coming in at No. 11, Harrisburg ranked No. 13 and Reading ranked No. 15.

READING, Pa. (CBS) — The 32-year-old woman who was injured during a Thursday morning house fire has died, according to the Reading Fire Department.
The department says Catherine Torres died following the three-alarm fire early Thursday on Mulhenburg Street. Officials say the fire started in the kitchen and was most likely caused by cooking. Items near and around the microwave caught fire.
According to the department, they rescued three people from the second floor, including Torres. One of them, 9-year-old Christian Torres, died at the hospital.

READING, Pa. (CBS) — A 9-year-old boy was killed in a house fire in Berks County. Officials say firefighters rushed to a two-alarm fire on the 900 block of Muhlenberg Street in Reading around 9:45 a.m. Thursday.
The fire grew to three alarms, according to officials.
Officials say the mother and two other children were rescued from the fire. They remain in critical condition at the hospital, according to officials.

READING, Pa. (CBS) — An update in the bulldozer death of a Berks County man suspected of growing marijuana. It happened as state police investigated his alleged activities.
Now, the man’s estate is expected to receive nearly half a million dollars in a tentative settlement.
“Our lives will never be the same again,” said Mike Carpenter, the victim’s uncle.
The family of Gregory Longenecker, of Reading, says he was taken from them too soon in a botched police search that turned deadly.
