We are asking all caregivers to come to our meeting for a simple reason: It will help you through the emotional and physical time of caring for those loved ones suffering from all forms of neurological disorders. We are speaking of stroke, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and any other neurological disorder. Caregivers can find themselves giving their entire day without recharging all the mental and physical strength needed to get through still another day. Perhaps we can help one another by sharing information about how to cope and where to get resources. On Saturday, April 13, from ..read more

Happy dancers (photo by Judy Saks) Judy Saks SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club (SBLDC) members are certainly passionate about line dancing, and we do a lot of it right here in SaddleBrooke. But on Feb. 21 we did something a little different. Nine volunteer dancers went to perform for a group of residents at the Country Club of La Cholla Retirement Community. The date was right in the middle of Rodeo Week in Tucson, so the songs and dances definitely had a country-western theme. Lots of Western hats, boots, and bling could definitely be seen. Our group was introduced by Carolina Anderson, the Life ..read more

Cindy Holm More than 40 Cyclemasters members joined the Marana Rotary’s Tour de Cookie, which was held in early March. This sweet fundraising event, which combines cycling and cookies, supports various local, national, and international service projects undertaken by the Marana Rotary Club. Riders enjoyed a casual 33.5-mile loop along The Loop river bike path, stopping at 12 stations along the route where they were handed cookies by community organizations and businesses. If eating 12 cookies along the way was too much for some riders, no problem! Each rider was given a “cookie bag” to carry t ..read more

Milky Way panorama (photo by John Triebe) Mark Guinn The SaddleBrooke Photography Club went on another field trip recently past San Manuel to photograph the Milky Way. It was an early departure that morning, some would say the middle of the night, to see the rising Milky Way to the east. This time of year the core of the galaxy is coming up in the southeastern sky, and the band of stars and nebula stretches in an arc low on the horizon to the north. It was a clear, almost cloudless night with no moon present. Eight brave souls, Mark Guinn, John Triebe, Dan McLaughlin, Ron Bower, Daniel Lecro ..read more
