The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says it has discovered fragments of the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) — more commonly referred to as bird flu — in some samples of dairy milk products. The Triple A Motor Club says the average price of gas in Indiana Thursday stood at $3.62 a gallon, a penny lower than Wednesday and four cents lower than Thursday’s national average. Indiana’s average was also four cents higher than a week ago, 13 cents higher than a month ago, and three cents higher than a year ago. Meanwhile, Triple A says the average price for diesel fuel in Indiana Thursday was $4.06 a gallon, a penny lower than Wednesday. The state’s largest teachers’ union has thrown its support behind the Democratic candidate for governor. Dr. Jennifer McCormick has gotten the endorsement of the Indiana State Teachers Association, which is a key endorsement secured by McCormick. The endorsement now allows her to have access to about $1.3 million in campaign money that comes from the union’s political action committee.
