LUBBOCK, Texas -- According to the Department of Public Safety, car crashes tend to increase during the spring and summertime since there are more drivers traveling on the road, but DPS Sergeant, Johnny Bures, said certain kinds of collisions in the region seem to be happening more.  “It does seem like we've had kind of a cluster of these, you know, wrong side to road crashes recently,” said Sgt. Bridge crews are to perform routine maintenance and bridge deck repairs to several bridges on S Loop 289 throughout the week. Work will take place from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., each night.
