Breeze Airways and Scranton International Airport officials announced Wednesday morning that nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach will begin taking off from Scranton on Thursdays and Sundays starting June 20, 2024. Columbia, S.C. (April 24, 2024) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close the Highway 472 bridge over Horsepen Creek in Horry County for replacement beginning on May 1. The closure is expected to last until November of 2024. During the closure, traffic will be detoured using Highway 471, Highway 905 and Highway 66. A map of the detour can be found below. During a police operation in Horry County last week, over ten people were taken into custody concerning local stolen merchandise. Two fugitives, including one from Texas, were arrested by the Horry County Police Department and the Myrtle Beach Police Department on Monday. According to documents provided to local news, the owner of a home at 1028 Poplar Drive is now facing 24 Myrtle Beach city code violations. This after the home was heavily policed last week as part of a ‘quality of life’ enforcement.
