Politicians across the country and in New York issued statements commemorating World AIDS Day, which honors the millions of people whose lives have been impacted by HIV/AIDS.  Last year, the estimated number of new infections slightly increased among men who have sex with men, though the number of people newly diagnosed with HIV in New York City decreased.
