Notorious drug lord Joaqun "El Chapo" Guzmn wrote a letter to a New York judge claiming he hasn't been able to get phone calls or have visitors while incarcerated in a maximum security prison in Florence, Colorado.
The Associated Press reported that Judge Brian M. Cogan replied to Guzmn's letter, writing that "the Bureau of Prisons became solely responsible" for overseeing his life sentence.

NBA YoungBoy, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, a rapper with millions of followers, was arrested Tuesday in Utah on multiple offenses including possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon while serving a house arrest sentence.
The Cache County Sheriff's Office reported that multiple agencies, including the FBI, the Secret Service and a SWAT team conducted a search warrant at the 24-year-old's residence located north of Salt Lake City.

Two years ago, Democrats repeatedly and forcefully warned Republicans and Gov. Ron DeSantis that a new law making it easier to challenge school books was so broadly worded that it would create havoc across the state.

Two bodies recovered in a rural county of Oklahoma are confirmed to be that of a missing preachers wife and her friend.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said the chief medical examiner positively identified the deceased as 27-year-old Veronica Butler and 39-year-old Jilian Kelley.
Both women were from Kansas and had been missing since March 30.

Washington state has declared a drought emergency, with the exception of three cities.
On Tuesday, officials from the Washington State Department of Ecology announced the declaration of a drought emergency for the majority of Washington State, citing an "exceptionally dry" winter that resulted in low snowpack and forecasts indicating continued dry conditions.

Mercer County Emergency Medical Services announced on Wednesday that it would be ceasing operations due to a lack of financial support.
Raintree Health, which operates the service, said the decision was made after discussions with Mercer County about low wages, staffing levels, and a "relatively small stipend contribution compared to other surrounding counties," according to a release.

Meow Wolf, the company known for its immersive and interactive art displays, is planning to lay off 165 employees company-wide, according to an internal memo sent Monday.
The company confirmed the cuts to Scripps News Denver, saying the move impacts 111 employees across the exhibitions and corporate team as well as 54 bargaining unit positions in Las Vegas, Nevada. Meow Wolf also has locations in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico.

A restaurant in northern Italy is offering a free bottle of wine to diners who agree to do a digital detox while enjoying their dinner.
Al Condominio, located in Verona, said each couple who comes in and allows staff to lock their phones in a drawer for the duration of their meal will get a free bottle of Maia Pinot Noir. The couple will have to show their server the key to the lockbox as proof to receive the special deal.

People with electric bikes are being warned to stop using certain batteries that could catch fire.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a public safety notice about Unit Pack Power (UPP) e-bike batteries, saying they could overheat and cause serious injury or death.
The CPSC said there were 13 reported incidents in the U.S. of batteries overheating. Seven of those cases reported fire and substantial property damage. There were also battery fires in the U.K.
