Multiple beaches in Orange County were closed Monday afternoon due to the threat of lightning strikes in the area. Huntington Beach closed its beaches around 3:20 p.m., and officials said they would remain closed until "weather conditions are deemed safe." The Seal Beach Police Department also announced that beaches, as well as the pier, would be closed while a storm system moved through the coastal area. The Huntington Beach Pacific Airshow is still months away, but it's already experiencing a bit of turbulence. The fan-favorite Pacific Airshow returns to Huntington Beach this year featuring a first-of-its-kind runway built on the sand. A suspected EBT scammer wanted by the FBI in Southern California was taken into custody in Florida. The alleged scammer, known only by the alias "Walerian Grabowski," was taken into custody on Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office. Seamus Hughes of Court Watch connected Grabowski's arrest to the alleged bank fraud and identity theft ring that operated in Southern California from about November 2021 to September 2022. Did you feel it? A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Orange County area on Friday night.  The quake was reported at around 9:52 p.m. according to the United States Geological Survey. The epicenter of the quake was located around 1.8 miles southeast of Huntington Beach in a populated part of town. The temblor was measured at a depth of approximately 7.7 miles, according to the USGS. Huntington Beach residents are up in arms after a group of people was captured on camera destroying holiday decorations. On Tuesday night, four "delinquents" went through several neighborhoods "damaging Christmas decorations and popping inflatable decorations in peoples yards," said KTLA viewer Kendra Brissey. Three bicyclists were struck by a vehicle in Huntington Beach Sunday night, including one who died. Now, authorities believe the same suspect might be responsible for all three incidents and that the crashes may have been intentional. Bioluminescence is not an unfamiliar sight in California, but when it's spotted, it's often aquatic creatures playing in the lit waters. Earlier this week, however, a photographer and videographer captured some humans getting in on the fun.
