In observance of National Safe Digging Month in April, Montana-Dakota Utilities wants to bring awareness to a simple process that will keep people safe, reduce service disruptions and have those planning to dig follow the law.   The main cause of underground utilities being damaged by someone digging is not notifying the 811call center to have utilities located. Annual Wildland Fire and National Guard helicopter training set for today

South Dakota National Guard (SDNG) Black Hawk helicopters, in coordination with SD Wildland Fire (SDWF), will conduct wildland fire aerial water delivery recertification training this week. The annual joint training is a collaboration between SDWF and the SDNG Army Aviation Facility (AASF). The second annual Sharpe Showdown walleye fishing tournament gets underway with a rules meeting tonight (April 26, 2024) in Fort Pierre. Team registration begins at 5:30pm CT with the welcome and rules meeting at 7pm CT at the AmericInn Hotel & Suites Conference Center in Fort Pierre. State prison offender Kobey Saunsoci placed on escape status from Rapid City facility

A state prison offender has been placed on escape status. Offender Kobey Saunsoci fled from correctional staff following a medical appointment in Rapid City this afternoon. Law enforcement was notified immediately. Saunsoci was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt and khaki pants. Saunsoci, age 22, is a Native American male. He is 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
