Crews respond to house fire in Frame, West Virginia

FRAME, WV (WOWK) - Crews are on the scene of a structure fire in Frame, West Virginia. According to Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers, the fire was first reported around 7 p.m. Thursday regarding a home in the 2000 block of Poca Fork Road. Dispatchers say the home is fully engulfed. No one has been injured in the fire. Dispatchers say there were people inside the home, but they made it out safely. The Frame, Clendenin and Pinch volunteer fire departments are responding. Even some backers of "green energy" say coal can still co-exist with cleaner fossil fuel technologies. Many West Virginia leaders are mad about new rules from the Environmental Protection Agency. KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) - Health and wellness were the theme Thursday at West Virginia State University's health expo. The expo began Thursday morning with a variety of free resources such as fitness testing, presentations, mental health screenings and naloxone training. CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - Kanawha County has been the county most prone to tornadoes in the region, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston. The declaration comes after the NWS in Charleston updated their Natural Hazard Risk Assessment to include the severe storms and tornadoes that tore through the Tri-State on April 2. Lens Creek Road repairs set to begin after landslide

LENS CREEK, WV (WOWK) - After a landslide took out part of the roadway, repairs on Lens Creek Road are set to begin Monday, April 29, according to Boone County Delegate Josh Holstein (R). There is no current timeline for when the project will be finished. The landslide happened April 12 just past where Kanawha County transitions into Boone County.
