Former Patriots star Malcolm Butler faced a judge in Rhode Island Thursday. Butler was arrested in North Providence on March 16 and charged with driving under the influence, a traffic violation, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. His attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Warwick, Rhode Island that left a man and a small child dead, officials said. Warwick police officers responding to a reported domestic disturbance on Frawley Street around 8:30 a.m. learned that a child had been shot and the shooter was still inside, according to police. Repairs to a critical Rhode Island bridge that was partially shut down over safety concerns last month could include the demolition of the span, state transportation officials said Monday. John Vieira, 59, of Warwick, R.I., one of the two men facing charges for a fan fight in the stands of Gillette Stadium, was was arraigned in Wrentham District Court Friday. Police say Vieira and 39-year old Justin Mitchell, also of Warwick, were seen in cell phone footage beating a man, Dale Mooney, during a Patriots game versus the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 17. Traffic is moving again in both directions over the Washington Bridge in Rhode Island following the bridge’s abrupt closure Monday. A 5-year-old girl who was reported missing in Providence late Wednesday night has been found dead, police say.
