PIKE COUNTY, KY (WOWK) -- A man died and another was taken to the hospital after a UTV went over an embankment and crashed into a tree, the Kentucky State Police said. The call came in around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday on Upper Johns Creek Road in the Kimper area of Pike County, according to the KSP. ELLIOTT COUNTY, KY (WOWK) - Elliott County first responders will soon be getting a new emergency services center. A memorandum of agreement has been signed and work is set to begin on bringing emergency services together in Elliott County, Kentucky. The $4.6 million investment is being made to combine EMS services into one operational center. FRANKFORT, KY (WOWK) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear says the Bluegrass State's medical cannabis program is way ahead of schedule. Beshear signed House Bill 829 Wednesday, which moves the timeline for cannabis businesses to be licensed from January 2025 to July of this year.
