ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who served nearly a decade in prison for his role in the murder of a 7-Eleven employee about 12 years ago is back in jail after he violated his probation.
Julian Deherrera was part of an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on Central and University that turned deadly when one of his accomplices, Eloy Aguilar, shot and killed 36-year-old Chad Mercer, who was working there at the time.
Deherrera pleaded guilty to armed robbery and conspiracy a decade ago and was sentenced to 14 years behind bars. After serving nine years, Deherrera got out in January of last year ..read more

We have seen a much quieter day across the state today with a couple of spotty showers developing across northern New Mexico, along with a couple light showers across south-central New Mexico as well. Heading through the late evening and overnight, skies will continue to clear across the state.
Temperatures started a warming trend this afternoon that will continue through the middle of the workweek. NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is requiring new mandates after Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza A (HPAI) H5N1 was discovered in dairy cattle.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- A Marion man accused in the March 15 killing of New Mexico State Police Officer Justin Hare will go to trial this summer, according to federal court records.
Jaremy Smith, 33, pleaded not guilty on April 18 to charges including carjacking resulting in death, causing death by the discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, kidnapping resulting in death and interstate transport of a stolen vehicle.
