  COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– This past September at USC’s 50th Anniversary of Desegregation ground was broken for a star commemorating USC trailblazers. On Friday morning, April 19, that statue of Robert Anderson, Henrie Monteith Treadwell and James Solomon Jr. was unveiled on campus at the historic horseshoe. The three honored by the school with the statue enrolled at USC on September 11, 1963. They became the first Black students since reconstruction to be admitted to the university.   (CNN)– Hyundai motor company is the latest major brand to pause its advertising on “X” formerly known as Twitter due to antisemitism. Hyundai’s announcement on Thursday comes a day after an ad from the automaker reportedly appeared next to an antisemitic and pro-hilter post. The verified account had posted tweets that denied the Holocaust and perpetuated antisemitic rhetoric. In response Hyundai paused their ads.   (CNN)– Netflix made some risky moves last year but it seems to have paid off. The streaming service cracked down on users sharing passwords which pushed users to get their own accounts. Now in the first three months this year Netflix announced it had gained more than nine million subscribers. That brings Netflix to a record high number of subscribers, nearly 270 million.   (CNN)– Starbucks has redesigned its plastic cups to be more sustainable. The new cups look similar to the current ones but they are made with up to 20% less plastic. Starbucks projects these new cups will keep more than 13-and-a-half million pounds of plastic out of landfills annually. It’s part of the company’s goal to reduce its carbon output in half by 2030.
