NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WAVY) -- Cape Hatteras Secondary School's DECA Club celebrated as three of their marketing students placed in the top 20 worldwide in the Community Giving category at a conference in California. Kristin Bennett, Ann Lord and Emma Riggs presented a project to support children in the foster care system at the April 28 international competition. GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- Greenville police arrested a woman and charged her with assault after officials said she stabbed her sister with a potato peeler. Kristen Hunter, public information officer with the Greenville Police Department, told WNCT's Courtney Cortright that Jocelun Sherrod was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present. MANNS HARBOR, N.C. (WAVY) -- As an estimated six month preservation project begins, the William B. Umstead, also known as Old Manns Harbor, Bridge is expected to close on June 3. During the $33 million bridge preservation project, all 313 concrete spans are being repaired as well as 170 expansion joints. Given the extent of the project, the whole bridge will be closed.
