If you've found your skin stressing from the lack of Vitamin D and regular exercise, you're not alone. I am not a dermatologist but I've always had my own unique skin "routine" so to speak and I stick to it. But, even with my dedication to my skin centered lifestyle, I couldn't fight the inevitable stress bumps from being unable to go outside. In the beginning of quarantine (about 4 weeks ago now) my skin was starting to thrive. I was outside less and underground much less which helped keep my face away from lots of dirty irritants. I'll attribute most of that glow to my regular routine and ex ..read more

Find Your Passion During Quarantine by Turning Inward

Sometimes when you put too much energy towards the outer self, your inner self can feel left behind. I feel like we live in a society that prizes outward appearance and accomplishment much more openly because the inner work is a lot harder to see. We can't "measure" it by regular scientific methods with large samples and graphs. We have to do the work ourselves and measure it by our own standards. Creating and maintaining that discipline is probably the most difficult part. What do you do to create that balance in your life? How do you maintain it? Is it allowing you to live in a state of abun ..read more

Crown Care: Learning to Love My Roots

Sometimes the only thing that can make me feel like I'm not a walking bag of chaos is having my hair done. It can be something as simple as a wash and go, but knowing my crown is straight gives me the extra confidence I need, sometimes, to get shit done. Up until my first semester of college my hairstyle was pretty much ALWAYS the same–– microbraids. Seems like the easiest and most versatile way to go as a natural girl in her teens, right? Sure, when you have the confidence and the ability to explore other natural hairstyles. My microbraids were more like a mask I wore to hide the fact that I ..read more

Open up your third eye with a great sweat session. FitHouse is one of my latest obsessions! Thanks to IntoApp I got to try a free class with one of my friends and the moment I walked into the NoHo studio I was hooked. The membership-based fitness club features a rotating schedule of pilates, barre, yoga and high-intensity cardio workout classes. The variety of classes and rotating schedule make this gym an ideal spot for models and dancers to get their daily dose of sweat. New Art | Le Pif

Not only do they have great wine, but Le Pif wine bar in New York City has a growing collection of fine art. Here are a few pictures of my piece entitled "Chaos" at Le Pif wine bar in Manhattan, New York City. This piece took a lot out time and thought. I spent around 75 hours painting this piece and another 4 to 5 hours hand placing the metal leaf details in the paint. This meticulous process is oddly therapeutic for me as it reminds me of counting rice or sewing beadwork. While that sounds strange spending a lot of time working on something like this is my reprieve from the "regular world ..read more

Manifest It: Producing A Shoot

While it appears that many fashion models live in a perfect world in which everyone is dying to get a chance to photograph them, that's not always the reality. This past week I produced a shoot for some portfolio updates and I can tell you, firsthand, it's much more work than you know. So what exactly has to happen before you get "the shot"? 1. Come up with a vision Start by pulling together inspiration and looks that you think can be achieved based on the model's appearance. In this case, I pulled looks from models that are most successful in my market. I took a lot of inspiration from Joan S ..read more

One of my favorite places in the world to lay back, relax and sweat is ShapeHouse. What's unique about ShapeHouse versus a traditional sauna or bathhouse is the use of personalized sweat rooms and machines that make the experience much more convenient and relaxing. While saunas can sometimes make those with claustrophobia actually more tense than usual (despite the sweating) I compare ShapeHouse more to being tucked in to bed as a small child. My grandma used to tuck me in suuuuper tight so I was more like a human sushi roll waiting to be chopped than a sleeping child, but still–– you get the ..read more

I can guarantee you if it weren't for a datebook or my phone alarms I'd think every day was Thursday. Understanding the moon a little better has literally changed my entire life. As someone who seems to be in a constant thought-storm of chaos, it is incredibly comforting to know that with some mindful practices and small rituals I can improve my organization, productivity and overall happiness. In the fall of last year I purchased the Many Moons Lunar Planner from Kollectiv, one of my favorite wellness spa's and cafe in NYC. I'd had a Lunar-based planner before and although the old planner wa ..read more

#MeTime | My First Sound Bath

Have you ever just wanted to melt into the floor (...not off drugs)? I went to a soundbath for the first time last year and I can tell you honestly, I blacked out in the most blissful way possible. But first, a little story... My first introduction to the healing power of music was a few years ago when my grandmother had a stroke. The speech therapist came in and tried to get her to start singing "Happy Birthday." All I needed to see was the look in my grandmother's eyes to know that she was NOT FEELING IT. I imagined her thinking "why is this strange woman singing happy birthday? It's Februar ..read more
