You may have heard of documentary photography in the past… or maybe you haven’t and you’re currently intrigued by those words. To put it simply, family documentary photography is about photographing your family in the most authentic, natural and unstaged way possible. Think of it like a on-the-ground journalistic approach where it’s about capturing the “real life” of people, being an observer of life that goes on without any artefacts. I’m going to help you check if this is the type of photography you’d love for your own family memories. Everybody’s different so let’s see if this is rig ..read more

It’s one thing for me to talk about how I work on a family photo session but it’s another to have a parent sharing her experience about her own family photoshoot with me. I had the pleasure to photograph Yasmine Camilla, influencer and mum, and her two children, Callum and Amber, in their home of South East London. She recorded a review video (below) talking about what she loved about her experience with me as well as the photos I created for her and her family.    Watch Yasmine and her children talking about their family photos:    Before the session, Yasmine told m ..read more

The benefits of country walks with your children I’ve been a city girl for almost 20 years, long before I had a family. I wanted to get away from small-town life and live in a buzzy & urban environment. However, one day, in a bookshop in Notting Hill, a friend recommended to me a book of country walks around London. This was a true revelation for my partner and I: jumping on a train and walking for 15 miles through quaint villages, woods and open fields felt so rewarding, exhausting and a complete escape from the city. Fast forward a few years: we’re now living in a suburban area of South ..read more

No one would ever dare saying that being a first-time parent is a walk in the park. Often new parents are getting ‘ready’ for their baby by focusing on the practical aspects (nappies, milk, clothes…) because it feels tangible and manageable. Everything else, most parents learn the long and hard way but we’d all agree it’s totally worth it. With all the new parents in mind, I’ve gathered testimonies from 20 mums (me included!) willing to share with you their realistic and powerful experiences about parenthood. All the things we wish we knew before becoming a mum or dad. I hope this will give yo ..read more

Leaving a home full of family memories As a family, moving away from the area you have raised your children until now can be emotional. That’s why this lovely family of five in Beckenham, Bromley, decided to celebrate the end of their family life in this London suburb with a family photoshoot at home before moving to neighbouring Kent. I met them on a casual Saturday, just a few weeks before their big move. With three children aged 9 to 2, there were lots of activities throughout the morning with a mix of calm and playful moments. Nothing was forced and I simply followed the flow of the child ..read more

Only a few days until Spring and it looks like there is hope at the end of the tunnel. I’m therefore very glad to announce that outdoor family photoshoots will resume after 29th March this year. Let’s bring on the fun outside: your children’s favourite ball game, a picnic, climbing trees or a game of hide and seek. If everything goes well, I will also restart indoor family shoots in and around London from 12th April. If you had a baby recently during Lockdown, you may enjoy a stroll in your local park with your little one. Bring a picnic blanket and we can certainly have lots of gorgeous natu ..read more
