First I want to thank you for reading my work. I hope everyone learned something, as I did doing research into different topics. It is with heavy heart that I am going to tell you that I am stopping my blog. I wanted to let you know my reasons and hope you will be extremely understanding. I started a second book called Keeping it real. Which I want to focus all my time on that so I can get it out by early spring. I will definitely let you all know when I put it out and like my first book you will be able to find it on Amazon. Ive thoroughly enjoyed reaching out to all of you the past fifteen m ..read more

Who is your worst enemy
My place for Happy

Took me a long time to realize I was indeed my worst enemy, I was self sabotaging myself without even realizing it. I was preventing the big steps ahead in my life without realizing it was me standing in my way. Some individuals, of course, spend much of their lives struggling with powerful cravings for food, drink, gambling, or other temptations that come at a painful cost to their health or relationships. But the forces that lead to self-sabotage can also be more subtle, such as an accumulation of dysfunctional and distorted beliefs that lead people to underestimate their capabilities, suppr ..read more

A little laughter goes a long way
My place for Happy

Last night I spent two hours with my two closest friends. We laughed and laughed and it made me start thinking how much the two of them meant to me. When we laugh, it’s usually a sign of happiness. According to the science of happiness, intentional laughter can even uplift our mood and make us happy, however, I much prefer the laughter that comes from great conversation. Wikipedia states Laughter is a physical reaction in humans consisting usually of rhythmical, often audible contractions of the diaphragm and other parts of the respiratory system resulting most commonl ..read more

Failure is a Blessing

Failure by definition is lack of success. However, the most successful people have had failure. Failure is the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, and may be viewed as the opposite of success. The criteria for failure depends on context, and may be relative to a particular observer or belief system. I challenge you to look at failure as a blessing, a lesson learned, for a much bigger and better success. It is said that your future is only as bright as your faith, faith in yourself, faith in your belief’s. So when we do hit a bump in the road don’t look at it as ..read more

United we stand, divided we fall

One of my all time favorite Abraham Lincoln quotes is “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” This weekend marked an unprecedented election, where division in this country reins. However, now a decision has been made we need to find common ground and unite again. See Abraham Lincoln also said “Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” No truer words. We need to set our differences aside and unite together to move our country forward. We need to no longer be Republican or D ..read more

Before you get a prescription turn to music

Plato once was quoted in saying ” Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. “ Many of us look towards music to soothe our soul, but did you realize music can be healthy for you. Music can affect your mood in many ways. This is because of the rhythm and tone that we hear when we listen to music. When we listen to a rhythm, our heart actually begins to sync up with it. Hopkins-medicine said If you want to keep your brain engaged throughout the aging process, list ..read more

Take a look in the mirror
My place for Happy

All too often in life we are looking at what others have, and what others do, and somehow we forget to stop and look in the mirror. We always seem to have time to make sure everyone around us is happy, leaving very little time for ourselves. As a parent, between baseball, and dance school, homework, and hangouts, you are lucky to find time to shower. Then it happens, sometime between the kids leaving the nest and retirement. For me I was brushing my teeth one morning, and I slowly lifted my head, there looking back at me was a woman I hardly knew. As I stared at her green eyes, and noticed the ..read more

How often do you add negative into your life
My place for Happy

Through my journey I realized I added negative to my life all the time, and perhaps when you are finished reading this you will find, you do too. It is my thoughts that we add negative all the time, and unless we become conscious of it we can not release them from our minds. There is nothing harder than to wake up with negative on your mind, feeling blah first thing really can set your mood for the day. Words play a very important part in our minds. Words like No, not, none, no one, nobody, nothing, neither or nowhere all have such negative influence in our minds. Learning to spot these though ..read more

So what we all thought would be a brief lapse in our lives has continued on for months. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and in a few short months we will add months into years. They have not came up with a cure as of yet, but my faith believes they will. When I first got quarantined with this pandemic, for whatever reason I thought perhaps we could make something good come from it. So I urge you to stick with me on this, and perhaps you too will see something good out of this. I am a firm believer there is always a silver lining some are just harder to find. For me this pandemic has ..read more

Sorry I have not written I have been feeling a bit under the weather. Covid is running rampant in our area and people are growing sicker and sicker in my surroundings. I look at my illness with gratitude because I am pretty sure it is not covid although I am getting tested tomorrow. My son got pneumonia and strep throat and I believe I am following in his tracks. I can smell and haven’t ran a fever in nearly a week. Strange things have happened this week, all of which I am consuming as blessings. For example I am keeping a low profile, and staying home obviously because I am not feeling amazin ..read more
