Four people were killed and another four injured following an accident in the Eriyagama area in Tambuttegama this morning (August 04), Police said. According to Police, a van travelling from Kurunegala to Anuradhapura had crashed onto a truck that was about to park on the side of the road while it was driving in the same direction. Sinopec Energy Lanka (Pvt) Limited and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) signed an agreement today (July 14) to operate and set up fuel stations for distribution in Sri Lanka. Sinopec has invested USD 100 million in the project, which includes the import, storage and sale of fuel, the BOI said. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says it has not discussed any plans for a digital services tax with the Sri Lankan authorities in the current program.
