After our amazing experience at kō•än in Cary we had to try their sister restaurant SO•CA in the Village District of Raleigh. So we gathered some close friends and did just that! Close friends always make dinner more enjoyable. Catching up, joking, and laughing until we cry make for a perfect evening. It’s even better when the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is delicious.

*Read to the end for suggestions on how to spend a day at Pullen Park.
My son is in love with trains. The child-sized locomotive that chugs around the grounds of Pullen Park is his absolute favorite. With this in mind, I decided to throw his fifth birthday party there and, lucky for me, there was a pavilion that was still available for rent for a beautiful Sunday in May. I made the reservations and sent out the invitations, and then it hit me!

As you can see, we started eating before photos. Worth it!
Kō•än means “public table”, but it should be called spoil me with food (Yòng shíwù chǒng huài wǒ, according to Google Translate). The worst part of this meal was how full I was afterward. Like, lie on the living room floor and digest, kind of full. Had to undo a shirt button I was so full. But before I talk about how good Kō•än Cary, NC is, let me set the stage. It was my birthday and I was allowing myself to be a bit spoiled. We all deserve it once in a while, am I right?!
