How on earth are we suppose to fully express our feelings about something? Through words? Music? Or paintings? There are some feelings and sentiments that are just too complex to show. Today I am delighted to have this lovely gentleman, @canadianwatchguy (who wish to stay anonymous, we will address him as B) to share with us his Seiko 6105-8119.

However, writing review is still an important part of my passion and there is no reason to discontinue. Today, I want to bring your attention to this special piece, my next target, the Cartier Santos Dumont Quartz.
Now I know you are asking “why the quartz movement?”

I am a student currently studying in Vancouver, Canada. As an ‘acting Canadian’, it is my job to try as many Canadian whiskeys as possible before I get ‘deported’. Last week, on a rare occasion, I actually remembered to order the Lot 40 Rye whiskey at a bar, so let’s get straight to the tasting of it.

Findings in Lot 40 Rye Whiskey
My first ever Rye whiskey was the Knob Creek Rye, it was a completely different experience compared to Scotches or Japanese. The Knob Creek Rye was not bad, but Rye just wasn’t my thing, yet. This time, the Lot 40 Rye Whiskey changed my ..read more

A lot of people have asked me why does Gentleman Pursuits not touch on the topic of automobiles/cars? The fact being, I am not well versed in the car world. However, since watch, whisky, and car lovers are all so interconnected, today it is my pleasure to have my friend Adrian Wong, a soon-to-be pilot, fulltime petrolhead here, talking about his love for Mitsubishi’s ‘Hidden Gems’.
The rivalry between Subaru and Mitsubishi in the rallying scene is world-renowned, and their fame in rallying saw people admiring their cars. With both the Subaru Impreza and the Mitsubishi Lancer earning a legendar ..read more

A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down (credit: @mchuwis)
We tend to learn more about the things that we love, understanding it at the deepest level possible, eager to know more about the lore and story behind every single detail. For us watch lovers, it is the movements, brand origins, and the craftsmanship, to the point where we forget that it is completely okay to buy a watch just because it looks good. Today it is my pleasure to have Michael (@mchuwis) here to share with us his story and adoration for the A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down.

It has been so long since the last whisky review. Truth be told, as a student, I face the lack of fund to buy whisky regularly, so most of the time I’ll just hop into a bar, try a dram or two and write down my thoughts. Recently, as the COVID situation sort of alleviates, I’ve decided to treat myself and went out with a friend to a restaurant called Elisa. Night out at this fancy bar paired with this gorgeous whisky, the NIKKA Coffey MALT, perfect.

There are many ways to understand and get to know someone. From this series, I see myself being closer to watch collectors through their sentiments regarding their timepieces. I want to thank Andrew (@bitbythewatchbug) for sharing the stories behind the amazing 1966 Omega Seamaster.

I guess it is starting to become a habit where I compare different watches with Rolexes. To be honest, it is justifiable. A lot of the Rolex watches are so overhyped/overrated, it clouds buyers’ judgment, and by comparing similar counterparts, this perhaps may spark an inner conversation with yourself, This or That?
In this article, we are going to look at Seiko Snowflake vs Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39

The Buren ‘Dirty Dozen’ watch (photo credit: @garethmunden)
To be completely honest, before the interview with Gareth (@garethmunden), the ‘Dirty Dozen’ watches were just mere images in my head, all I knew were that they were 12 watches for the British soldiers. Of course, I learn and grow through writing reviews and articles, and it has come to my attention that the ‘Dirty Dozen’ is one of the most collectibles within the watch community.

A gem. (source: @j_jockamotto)
I still remember my first watch. What am I talking about? I literally have two watches only, a Seiko and a Graham, but I love them all dearly, one was my birthday gift and one was a celebratory watch for being admitted to UBC. I am certain that every watch enthusiast has at least one or two watches for the celebration of something, a job, the birth of a child, or maybe winning the NASCAR, who knows? Today, it is my pleasure to share Joe’s story (@j_jockamotto) and his IWC Aquatimer 3536 with you.
