Hope Beyond the Overwhelm
Kingdom Winds

Life in the overwhelm takes us from relative comfort to fear to questioning the meaning of life to questioning our existence. When we endure loss and are tipped into grief, overwhelm threatens every moment. Even when we’re gifted a presence of momentary peace, we know that the overwhelm, the dread, beckons at the door — we wonder when our peace will be vanquished.   FAITH TO OVERCOME Some people have faith to overcome and it comes naturally to them. For others — especially those who are more realistic than idealistic — faith to overcome comes much less naturally. Let me explain that ‘fai ..read more

Lessons From Joseph Part 4: The Key to Your Dream
Kingdom Winds
by Jaime Luce

Joseph didn’t go to prison because someone lied about him. Joseph went to prison to interpret a dream for Pharaoh. He had to be there for that exact day. It was the day his own dream had waited on. Can you see it? Joseph had to help someone else with their dream so God could give Joseph his. Joseph now had to serve again but this time his service put him second in command only to Pharaoh. Our dreams are not “get out of jail free cards.” They don’t mean it can finally be all about us, at least not when they are from the Lord. The key to your dream may simply be to serve others. Looking Down From Heaven Above
Kingdom Winds
by Kenneth L Birks

Looking down from Heaven above, He sees all. Knowing He sees all, we sing joyfully in His presence. With praise on our lips, our hearts, we lift to Him. Praise filling our hearts, in us, He delights. Looking upon us with great affection, He fills. Looking down from above, His word in our hearts, He spies. Knowing His word is right and true, we allow it to transform. As His word transforms, He fills our hearts with understanding. As His understanding fills, unfailing love for Him, He imparts. Giving ourselves to Him who sees all, in His word, we delight. His treasures hidden in our hearts; He ..read more

You Will Not Die
Kingdom Winds
by Thomas Arn

Are you not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction. Habakkuk 1:12 Going through difficult times is very hard for most people. It can sometimes appear as though one is going to die and not survive the difficulty. The troubles can overwhelm a person to the point of death. This can feel like one will literally die, while other times it is more figuratively. Habakkuk recognizes that God is everlasting and that even in great trials and judgment, they will not die. Those bringing on th ..read more

Now and then I get out of the house to write this blog.  Partly so I won’t be tempted to keep raiding the snack drawer.  Partly because staying indoors too much begins to affect my writing. It can start to sound like…well, somebody who has developed a bit of SAD (seasonal affective disorder).   I often hit the road for a favorite Barnes and Noble, where cookies are kept safely within a glass case (having to pay for them seems to deter my grazing tendencies).  The gigantic store windows also allow a premium of light.  If I need a five-minute break, I can wander th ..read more

Surrendering My Mom Cape
Kingdom Winds
by Lisa Wenninger | Authentic Truths

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 “Lord, do I have enough in me to handle this?” This is a common question for many people going through one thing or another. I am journeying through prayer for a loved one in addiction. We have traveled this ordeal for years. Only by the strength of God have I overcome the fear. I wore my mom cape daily for a ..read more

The Island of Iona is three miles long and two miles wide. Yet, it is considered “the cradle of Christianity.” Jenny Weeks and I are leading a pilgrimage through Scotland on the theme of Celtic Christianity September 16-26, 2024. This is not an infomercial but it is an invitation should you be interested in renewal, feel free to contact either one of us for further information. Again, not to “sell” you on this pilgrimage but the beauty of traveling in September is the tourist season is over, children are back in school, rates are cheaper, and the weather is best time to travel through Scotlan ..read more

Whose Name Will You Walk In?
Kingdom Winds
by Thomas Arn
1d ago
For all people walk each in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever. Micah 4:5 People love their independence. They want to be able to do things their own way and be successful at it. Many will choose their own path to walk in and who they will follow if they follow anyone at all. Some will be successful, while others will never see success, yet they still desire to walk their own path. Micah states that everyone walks in the name of their own god, but he and those with him will walk in the name of the Lord their God forever. The world follows ma ..read more

When Israel realized the Assyrian army was about to overcome their nation, it was a desperate time. Fear and uncertainty were overcoming the hearts of the people. At that time, Isaiah offered the people an invitation, “Search the book of the Lord and see what he will do” (Isaiah 34:16). As Israel searched God’s word, they discovered a profound truth, “His Spirit will make it all come true” (vs. 16). As Isaiah continued, he said that in the middle of this work of the Spirit, “There the Lord will display his glory, the splendor of our God. With this news, strengthen those with tired hands and e ..read more
