Issues of controlling bacteria in closed environments have become a prevalent topic for indoor air quality With the COVID-19, issues of controlling bacteria in closed environments have become a prevalent topic for indoor air quality for occupant comfort. The most common recommendation for soundproofing of duct-work and to thermal resistance to heat transfer and loss of energy is sound lining, but this is also the ultimate nursery for accumulation and propagation of air-borne bacteria through transmission bacteria via exhale/inhale of occupant breath. We recommend consulting with you ..read more

It has been more than a year since Metropolitan Engineering partnered with Classic Heating and Cooling and Blueprint Robotics. We immediately started to develop design and construction processes that will integrate the MEP systems into the offsite manufactured panels. After more than a year of hard work, we are finally able to see results when our first projects proceed to the manufacturing and field assembly phases. The first townhomes are already built and the rest will be completed by the end of the year. Our tireless effort, to provide the most innovative engineering solutions, contribute ..read more

(Part 2 – Design-Build) In the first part of our ‘Future of Construction Market” series, we looked at offsite manufacturing. This method of construction will be taking over a bigger portion of the small to medium multifamily construction market segments in 2020. This second part of our series is dedicated to another major trend. The utilization of the design-build project delivery method is growing and has the potential to bring innovation to the traditional construction market. Long History and Growing popularity The design-build method is considered a new, alternative approach to the tradit ..read more

(Part 1 – Offsite manufacturing) Construction sector is traditional and conservative. We saw a lot of innovations and improvements in all other sectors in the past years. The automotive industry is becoming more and more efficient thanks to the substituting missing skilled labor by machines. Mobile commerce and apps like Apple Pay and Google Wallet will revolutionize the way we pay, and the 5G network will kick off the internet of things. The construction sector is one of the slowest in leveraging technological innovations. With all these technological improvements in recent years, constructi ..read more

How does VRF work in office building? Better than any other system. However generic this statement is, this new system to USA market does actually work great for most applications. Retrofit, new construction, but the best benefits are in speculative commercial office building developments. Why is VRF more energy efficient? In income producing real estate, the rentable space is money! VRF uses the least amount of floor area for distribution of heating or cooling. It also has a benefit of heat recovery. Why is VRF more cost effective? The cost to install VRF system is the lowest, even if this s ..read more
