Human beings are social animals and since even before the beginning of language, we developed and engaged in communities. I, like you all are part of many communities. Including (but by no means limited to): my immediate family, my locality, nursing, gay, authors/writers and pagan/spirituality. I love being part of every community that I am part of, but like any community I don’t always agree with or like all members. On exceptionally rare occasions, I get into conflict with a community member. Sometimes it’s like we can’t see what brings us together as community members. Like we are too focu ..read more

An NHS Consultation Appointment & Sick Pay

70 Weeks. That what the current waiting time is for the Ear, Nose & Throat Department is in the NHS near me. I’m managed to secure a much earlier appointment than this, which is in April 2024. But unfortunately this does mean that I’ll be off work for at least another couple of months and will go down to sick pay. Everyone lives to their means. With no savings to fall back on (and even if I did, they would be unlikely to cover the amount of lost income), I’ve had to contact my creditors and explain the situation. I’ve also had to get creative about bringing in income. So I’ve decided, mos ..read more

Book Review: James Acaster’s Classic Scrapes by James Acaster

James Acaster’s Classic Scrapes is a book by the eccentric, undeniably funny and weirdly attractive James Acaster. In James Acaster’s Classic Scrapes, James shares stories from his life. Some of them he’s shared on Josh Widdicombe’s radio show. These stories are ‘scrapes’ because of the situations James finds himself in and how he scrapes by. These stories are hilarious, particularly because he doesn’t appear to learn from past experiences. What’s wonderful about James, is that he seems to aimlessly wonder through life, has a rather unique perspective on the world and the people around him ..read more

Money bowls bring wealth to you and your home. They originate in Chinese culture and Feng Shui. The practice of money bowls has recently become popular among Witches, Pagans, Spiritualists and other groups in the UK. Here is my money bowl: Good items to put in a Money Bowl include: A green candle – The colour green being associated with money. (Interesting sidenote: in China the colour red is associated with wealth.) Rice – Due to its historic Chinese association with wealth. Cinnamon – Either sticks, ground Cinnamon or essential oil. Cinnamon is associated with money and abundance. Crystals ..read more

Marie Laveau (1801-1881) was an African American lady who was a Voodoo Practitioner, Wise Woman, Herbal Healer, Spiritual & Community Leader and Business Women in New Orleans, USA. This incredible woman I recently got educated about by my good friend Sally, at The Lancashire Witch. Since Sally told me about Marie Laveau, I’ve been unable to escape very obvious signs that I need to know more about this wonderful woman. The first sign was reading something about Marie Laveau’s gris gris bags. I’ve been creating gris gris charm bags and feeding them daily with an oil mixes ever since I came ..read more

Your Birthday

It was your birthday yesterday. I always remember your birthday and the anniversary of your far too premature death. But some thing rather unusual happened to me yesterday. I felt the raw pain of grief in my heart at you not being physically there and had to stop to have a good cry. After my good cry, I lit a candle and wished you a Happy Birthday. I have no idea why this particular birthday of yours brought such intense feelings of grief and loss. Perhaps I was more sensitive than normal due to lack of sleep. I’ve haven’t been sleeping well due to the constant pain from my nose. At the weeke ..read more

In my last post: My View on The Law of Attraction – Including Pro/Cons Lists, I discussed The Law of Attraction in great detail. Thinking about The Law of Attraction was useful in terms of me developing some wishes and goals for my life. Here they are, some may not appear to be realistic, but The Law of Attraction encourages you to think and feel big, so that’s exactly what I’ve done here: Health: My Diabetes is in perfect control. I sleep well. I have plenty of energy. I’m healthy and happy. I relax regularly. I always have plenty of food available to me. Money: I have millions of pounds ..read more
