Our Couples

We had a string of weddings over the last 5 weeks with some really cool people. Each couple had their own ideas of style, flowers and colours they loved but alongside that, so often, emails would be signed off with “but happy with whatever you have growing/in season” - and THAT is gold for us! We control only so much and Mother Nature dictates the rest of it so to have couples flexible and open to the seasonality of it all is so important for what we do and is greatly appreciated by us! FYI nature always over delivers ..read more

Our last wedding of the autumn 22 season was part DIY with our couple requesting some loose flowers in buckets and I created the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets and the button hole for them. A large trailing bouquet was our bride’s request. It was a rainy ol’ day which was captured beautiful by The Photo Trail ..read more

I make wreaths wholeheartedly IN the moment BUT in saying that I have also thought about the idea of wreaths all year! It is nearly December and I have run out of hanging space around my house and our laundry is full of dried bracken fern. As it got closer to the day Laura let me know that she loved the look of the amaranth we had growing and asked if it could be incorporated into the flowers for her day and she also relaxed on the type of greenery telling me I could use whatever coloured greens we had growing. Music to my ears! Thank you Laura for trusting us to do what we do and allow the day and the flowers to be what they would be! There was still a ve ..read more

We grow flowers for weddings so we are pretty keen weather watchers at the best of times but especially during harvest/wedding week. Whilst rain is wonderful for plants it can be detrimental to near full flowering blooms that I wish to use in our arrangements. Harvesting the flowers at the right bloom stage and as close to the event as possible is key and knowing the potential weather impacts is hugely beneficial. A little note on wind – wind is the worst! In 2019/20 we experienced the dry and the fires. We were getting water trucked in for home use and for water for our animals. The grass was ..read more
