Notwithstanding the FAA’s refusal
to delay the commenting period for the Remote ID NPRM, this proposal still elicited
54,000 comments from the drone community. The majority of response is intensely
negative which does not bode well for compliance.
The outcome of this proposed rule
will have far-reaching impact on drone jobs, education, and adoption of this
nascent technology. Before we get too far ahead, let us get to the basics
first.
What is the Remote ID?
So, what exactly is Remote ID or
Remote Identification? Remote ID is nothing but a digital license plate for drones.

The commercial drone industry has been greatly inhibited by archaic FAA regulations. One such regulation prevents a drone pilot from flying over people (non-participants). Currently, a drone pilot needs to obtain a Part 107 waiver (107.39 – Operation over human beings) if he/she wishes to fly over people.
However, obtaining a Part 107 waiver is incredibly
difficult. More than 99% of total waivers are rejected. And of the 3700+waivers
granted to date, only 107 are for “Operations over Human Beings” or “Flying
over People”. Yikes!
In early 2019, FAA came out with a NPRM that might make it ..read more

that can provide reasonable protection from a falling small unmanned aircraft.

What is a Part 107 Waiver?
A Part 107 waiver is an official FAA document that allows commercial drone pilots to operate outside the regulations of CFR Part 107.
As a commercial drone pilot, you might need to fly at night
or BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) in order to capture your dream shot.
Unfortunately, Part 107 regulations do not permit you do so, and you will need
a Part 107 waiver to facilitate this.
Obtaining a Part 107 waiver is difficult and you need to follow a systematic approach if you hope to get the FAA’s permission. That is why we have prepared this guide to help ..read more

In this blog post, we answer some of the most common
questions pertaining to a Part 107 License. If you are an aspiring or new drone
pilot, this information will be particularly useful to you.
What is Part 107 License?
The FAA released Part 107 regulations in 2016. Under these regulations, drone pilots can obtain a Part 107 Certificate which enables them to fly for commercial purposes. A Part 107 license is applicable to drones weighing less than 55 pounds. For large drones weighing more than 55 pounds, you will need a Section 44807 exemption (formerly Section 333 exemption).

You need the accompanying hardware and software in order to make AR work. Key hardware components required for AR are: 1) A Compatible Process 2) Display 3) Sensors, and 4) Input Devices. Whereas, AR software makes it possible to add augmentations in the real world by recognizing real world coordinates. As 2019 draws to a close, let us pause
for a bit and reflect on the year gone by. 2019 was a difficult year for the
drone industry. US-China trade wars, the ensuing tariff hikes, and data security
issues has marred the growth prospects of the entire industry and particularly
the industry leader, DJI.
In fact, just prior to publishing
this article, a memorandum “Operational
Risks With Regards to DJI Family of Products” by US Navy was released in
the media. This memo highlighted how the data link between a DJI drone and
ground station can be hacked to access data.
