Hello people,  I am sure you wondered what happened with this blog of mine. No more articles, short stories or book reviews....Well, summer holidays happened even in this stupid corona year. We did not go far but enjoyed our time together outside of the house, biking and sunbathing but without getting too close to other families. We stayed in what our government called a bubble. A bubble of 5 persons, nothing more. And it dit feel like a bubble, days and nights together without the normal summer activities we normally do. My kids and I , we love the beach, sea and sand. We love wa ..read more

Lockdown week 6

Lockdown week 6 going towards week 7....and I am still around even if I am not writing much. I'd like to say that I am moving on with Henry's and Stella's story but it is not the case. I am frozen, unable to write and concentrate. I am reading though. Quite a lot actually, which is in a way surprising given the situation in and outside our home. There are too many people in this house, too much noise, too much imperatives that need my expert motherly love...and patience...to find the time to sit, reflect, listen to my characters's voices  and turn that into words on paper ..read more

LOCKDOWN - WEEK 2
Everything she reads...

This is it. My country is locked down due to a virus, COVID-19...the same that is probably ruining your days and nights. This is our second week within our four walls and I would not say that it is going smoothly. Our fridge is filled, the shop is nearby so it is rather easy to do our shopping even if some items are missing in the shop alleys.  It is more the general mood on the street and inside our home that is hard to adjust to. People were first rather going crazy buying food and paper rolls in such large quantities that it was really ridiculous. Some others fought in the shop alleys over ..read more

Published March 6th 2018 by Simon Pulse Young Adult Fiction / Fantasy / Witches Hardcover, 308 pagesI already told you about my love for ghost stories. Another genre that I love also is "witch stories". You certainly had a go at Deborah Harkness' trilogy "A Discovery of Witches" or Anne Rice's "The Witching Hours". Here is a new book that is a mix of ghost and witch storytelling, now in a paperback edition and translated also in French: The Wicked Deep. The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw is a story of revenge, magic, and first love set along the beautiful and haunted coastal shores of Sparrow ..read more

BOOK REVIEW : "Grown Ups" by Marian Keyes

Book Review in March: Grown Ups by Marian Keyes. Released on 20/02/2020 with Penguin Books Ltd. Marian Keyes is one of these authors that I discovered years ago and that I follow closely through years and publications. I love her witty style and puns. Her fiction and non-fiction books are really worth your time and money. She wrote among others, Watermelon, Rachel's Holiday, Anybody Out There with the Walsh's fantastic and crazy family members. And as I am always looking forward to her writing, I could not resist this new one, set as usual in Ireland. This new book concentrates on a new f ..read more

You certainly have noticed that I was less present on the blog and I regret it. It was not because of a lack of creativity but rather because of my personal mood at the moment. I feel like the weather...stormy and rainy.  The almost apocalyptic coronavirus is spreading throughout Europe and my country is also among the ones that suffer. In a week or so we went from 8 to more than 350 infected patients.  It really feels threatening since I am stuck at home due to serious health problems and low (very low) immune system. If I follow the news, I am among the ones that are the most threatened by ..read more

Do you love cupcakes? Because I do...I love the frosting, the colours, the various little savoury things cake designers put on top, you know candies, chocolate chips, sparkles and so many other treats. When I stand in front of the window, I always struggle about deciding what to take. Something girly or will it be neutral cupcakes so that the boys will not feel left aside. Usually, I end up with a full box of Hello Kitty, Batman, Rainbows and chocolate. Here is a story about cupcakes, tea and love...Enjoy reading. The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton This novel is a murder story with a fantastic twist. It is a roller-coaster story in which you will question everything you read about the settings, the various characters and of course the murderer.  Some readers might feel a bit lost but you must stick to the story and reach the final which would without any doubt leave you speechless. At least, I was. I will try to sum up the story for you without giving too much away. Thus, this will not be a full summary but rather hints for you to read this book. Our hero, Aiden Bishop, finds him ..read more

February....the lovely month of February. Another month rolling for me. Holidays are slowly approaching and my kids are very much looking forward to them and still full of hopes in regards to the possible arrival of snow. I am not as positive as them.  The weather is really too hot, even for February. Rain and strong wind are what we have right now, especially with the storms raging through Europe. This month, I will work on a different set of writing prompts and I will try to post more free short stories. Here is a first list of prompts ideas, if you would like to offer some of yours, feel f ..read more
