It's halfway to Halloween! To celebrate, Disney has announced a whole host of new additions to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2024. This year, the after-hours event will take place in the Magic Kingdom between the 9th August and the 31st October. Details have been released regarding new costumes, showtimes, and merchandise. New images of Legoland’s Woodland Village have been released ahead of its opening on 24th May 2024. The new area will contain a variety of wooden accommodations, a campfire-style restaurant, and a Woodland Village trail packed with adorable Lego animals. Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a high-speed outdoor roller coaster will open in 2026 – the park’s first. The Storybook Land Canal Boats attraction just got even more magical. Disneyland Paris has announced that a scene from Up will feature on Le Pays Des Contes de Fées when it reopens this summer. The attraction takes guests on a laidback boat ride through a series of mini worlds including the likes of Aladdin, The Sword in the Stone, and Beauty and the Beast. While the boat ride is completely charming, it has been in dire need of a revamp for multiple years. While this land already exists at Universal Hollywood and Universal Studios Japan, we’ve learned some new and exciting information specific to Orlando. The hotel officially opens on 6th June 2024, the same day as the new Fantasy Springs port opens at Tokyo DisneySea. The hotel is themed around the magical home of a Duchess who loves adventure and travel, with plenty of whimsical touches inside and out. Planning permission has been granted for a new flat ride at Alton Towers. Dubbed “Project Ocean,” the ride will sit on the former Ripsaw site and is said to be a similar Top Spin attraction. The proposal is as follows: “The proposal is for the removal of the existing Funk n Fly ride and to replace it with an attraction that sits atop a concrete structure that has an approximate overall height of 18m.” Interestingly enough, Ripsaw was also 18m tall. After weeks of teasing that a mega summer announcement was on the way, Universal Orlando has released details of three new shows hitting the parks this year. Universal might be gearing up for the grand opening of Epic Universe in 2025, but that doesn't mean we have to wait until next year for new shows and experiences.
