Unwanted Tourists

Tourists are not guests. I mentioned in my article ‘Gentle Gaze‘ that finding the right balance between tourists and local communities is challenging. I would like to express my viewpoint clearly: Tourists can sometimes be an extra burden for the local community, and it is advisable for tourists to walk on the side. Recently, news ..read more

It really turned into a terrible event. In recent years, a large amount of seaweed has washed up on the sandy beaches of Cancun. I went to Cancun in 2016 and I was moved to the beautiful white sand and emerald waters. The sand on Cancun’s beaches is almost entirely made up of crushed coral ..read more

While maintaining left-right balance is crucial for running, I have a challenge when standing on one leg: my body can be kept steady and straight on the left leg, but it becomes unstable and wobbly on the right leg. What causes this problem? Fortunately, the world is full of information from physiotherapists. Their advice can be summarised as follows. Firstly, the muscles in my right buttock are not in use properly, so it is wobbly. My right buttock feels no strength because my pelvis is tilted backwards. The cause of the backward tilt should be addressed not only in the lower body but also i ..read more

Amazing Auguste Rodin

Moore on Auguste Rodin won the Derby at Epsom Downs Racecourse. The neck and neck race at the final stretch with King of Steel was a spectacle. He is Deep Impact’s really final son, so it is notably impressive. As I said when Snowfall won the Oaks, if he wins the “Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe” in the fall and shows us that it wasn’t a fluke, I will be even happier. Let’s fly with Snowfall’s dream. Deep Impact’s small final crop yielded a winner in traditionally the most significant race for a breed-shaper, the Betfred Derby. ¶It had been a day of reckoning for Auguste Rodin, […] ¶“Deep Impact ..read more

It is not worth writing about… I finished a full marathon race in just 3h 40m, which means I can be back to the same result as five years ago. In the last few years, injuries have prevented me from running as fast as I would have liked, and I thought I was going to fade away, but I avoided that for now. Fortunately, I no longer worry about the inflammation in my hip. During the race, I did not care about my running form at all, such as whether my pelvis was collapsing, and I could just concentrate on moving forward. Once I could take a load off my mind about injury, I could see the next summi ..read more

ChatGPT is a free online human-chat dialogue service powered by artificial intelligence based on Reinforcement Learning technology. I previously introduced an AI translator DeepL, but it differs from that at DeepL in that its main purpose seems to be to chat, but it can translate, summarise and give feedback on texts, and even suggest appropriate paraphrases. As an English writing check, DeepL is easier to use, but it is an effective tool for English learners when looking for better expressions for sophisticated or academic phrases or other purposes. Here is an example of the results, using m ..read more

When thinking of travel in terms of aphorisms, the ones that come to mind are ‘Seeing is believing’ and ‘Now or never’ as a motivation to travel, and ‘Treasure every meeting, for it will never recur’ as impressions of the destination. The desire to actually see and feel is the reason for travelling. I assume that if I don’t go there, I won’t get a second chance. So I get an adrenaline rush of excitement when I reach my destination. I have very little anxiety. And I really valued the experiences, encounters and impressions I had on the journey. I realised that my impression of the city, which ..read more

Kukur Tihar is a festival celebrating dogs in Kathmandu, Nepal. Dog worship in Nepal originates from Hindu mythology. Dogs seem to be valued as messengers of the gods. As mentioned in the article on the trip to Nepal in 2013, I had a good impression of the relationship between the local people and their dogs. When I am travelling, I tend to pay more attention to the dogs. I really like the environment that I often see in Europe, where dogs and humans also enjoy restaurants and trains together, which is my ideal home. ¶[…] The next day, Kukur Tihar, focuses on dogs that act as spirit guides ..read more
