DEWALT 4-1/2-Inch Angle Grinder , Paddle Switch, 11-Amp (DWE402)   If you have gone through a few cheaper angle grinders, (and you know what I mean) why not step up to the plate and buy a worthy tool.   This DeWalt 4 and 1/2 inch grinder cuts through the competition like butter. It also has extra amperage which makes this thing chew through metal or wood with the right disk on it.   It’s very well built, has very low vibration and is a powerhouse of a tool. The guard is adjustable so you can rotate it where you need it and can remain working safely without removing it to get into certain ..read more

Not with the carving part itself so much, but with how to hold the bigger pieces I wanted to work on.   You see,  a smaller piece wasn't really a problem since I could hold it in my hand. And a medium sized piece well, lets face it, they make plenty of vises and holders for that. Heck even a board and some screws would do the trick in most cases. But when I started chainsaw carving and doing more cabinets and woodworking I needed to hold much biger pieces, sometimes whole logs or slabs of wood 6 foot long and larger. Now it ..read more

Can you really make money with your woodcarving? Well, the answer is Yes. But not without learning how to do at least decent quality work. Sometimes you can hit just the right niche and that's all you need as long as your skills are good enough to produce a recognizable carving. Wood spirits for instance like I like to carve are great sellers almost anywhere, they have many ways you can utilize them once you can carve them decent enough to sell.  For instance you can put them on Bottle stoppers, walking sticks, canes, wall hangings, knife handles, almost anything made of wood.
