On episode 352 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we explore a handful of mysterious UFO encounters that had both temporary and lasting effects on animals. And while the cases themselves are both extraordinary and truly bizarre, some of them would leave animals either agitated, excited, scared, or unfortunately; dead.

On episode 351 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we review the classic Flatwoods Monster case from a new perspective. On September 12th, 1952, a group of local boys and one of their mothers saw what they described as a "shooting star" that fell to earth on the top of a hill. They soon stumbled upon an object that was glowing and hissing. Near the glowing object they were terrified to see a huge creature, that would come to be known as the Flatwoods Mo ..read more

On episode 350 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we dig deep into the early files of Project Grudge. Intended to alleviate public anxiety over UFOs and persuade the public that UFOs constituted nothing unusual or extraordinary, Project Grudge sought to explain away UFO sightings. Officials recommended that the project be reduced in scope because the very existence of Air Force interest encouraged people to believe in UFOs. Eventually, the Air Force announced the project's termination in December of 1949. However, it would come to light that it was actually still in operation, albeit covertly, until l ..read more

On episode 349 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, Ryan, inspired by a recent trip to Japan, digs deep into the legends and lore of the region. Japan has a long and fascinating history when it comes to UFOs, much of which is intricately documented in sacred and ancient texts. There is also an abundance of history that existed only orally until recent times, including that of the Utsuro Bune legend, when a group of fishermen discover a strange vessel in the water ..read more

On episode 345 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we head to Berlin. Of the many files released by the CIA, one bearing the title, Flying Saucers in East Germany, from July 9th, 1952 is one of the most interesting. The account would find its way to the CIA after the main witness, Oscar Linke would testify of his claims before a judge. What made the Oscar Linke case even more intriguing is that he and his family would escape the oppression of Soviet-controlled East Germany and into the relative freedom of West Germany before the incident became known. Linke knew that what he'd witnessed wasn't a Soviet ..read more
