Hiding From the Moon
©2024 Bob Atkinson
Too far to visit?
our home grown space agency
not to be confused with skill
wanders over time’s scope
no longer giving us thrills
for back in 1959
two years after Sputnik
we sent a probe around the moon
to take some pictures of it
yet how many moon rovers
do we have today
thrilling us with pictures
of a really strange space place
how competent is that space agency
which knows not how to travel
within earth/moon sphere
a question to unravel
did we land men on the moon in 1969
or did we fake ourselves to heaven
saving many dimes
skills today seem less ..read more

Willing to Look Pretentious

Strange People
we see them in our daily lives
such stand outs, with verve they cry
looking different in external
vibes they give off without humility
strange to stand in their vicinity
Merriam-Webster
we love their outlook, they’re brave souls
to set themselves upon those stages
whereby their act’s presented to us
as a book written with edges blueprinted
sanity questioned as if strange goofnuts
sometimes they wear funny hats
clothes designed for different slats
a world enamored with their nerve
never could we that way curve ..read more

U.S.A. For Africa We Are the World
U.S.A. for Africa We Are the World
- by - Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie
There is a time when we should hear the certain calls
'Cause the world it seems it's right in this line
'Cause there's a chance for taking in needing our own lives
It seems we need nothing at all
I used to feel I should give away my heart
And it shows that fear of needing them
Then I read the headlines and it said they're dying there
And it shows that we must heed instead
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a ch ..read more

Too Stupid be Stupid
©2024 Bob Atkinson
"it requires no art to become stupid; the whole art lies in extracting wisdom from stupidity. Stupidity is the mother of the wise, but cleverness never."
Stupidity
heard this phrase today
woke me up from my daze
yes, here’s someone’s astute outlook
revising innate foolish concepts
can we really understand
how we’ve put ourselves behind
behind that eight ball’s secreted duress
by initiating pomp over process
weaponizing dollar’s value
deletion of our established powers
attacking, prodding, creating enemies
in order to firmly establish greed
greed ..read more

Social Engineering

Social Engineering
been a long time since
I trusted those “experts”
to show an impartial nature
to my fellow human robots
they go off on a tangent
pushing pet projects absurd
something detrimental to logic of
those not mind deranged or cursed
doctors went on strike
mortality rate declined
teachers teaching nonsense
to our children yours and mine
how can they implement solutions
to problems never asked
something my eyes water on
as in our recent past
don’t corrupt our children
don’t tell them nonsense here
whereby they’ll not recover
from induced tears ..read more

Non-Honestorial a Legacy of Lies
©2024 Bob Atkinson
Lobbying
been a while since this transaction
consummated in a deal
whereby our institutions purpose
stolen from our people
media bought and paid for
D.C. never honest, lobbyists allowed to roam
up and down Congress halls
dollars doled out to elected clones
corporations given
status of the people
so with money contributions
their needs become our principles
which leaves my point plainly told
we’ve a legacy of shame
this government’s corrupted wholly
peoples needs not in the game
stability of purpose
domestic not their tone
Ukraine needs t ..read more

Kiev Bob
love this guy forever imprinted
in my small wee brain
seems so sincere in presentation
you’d think he’s not insane
like listening to Rachel Maddow
how could this person lie
with such straight face, a deviate
beyond when people cry
Al Jazeera
not a word ever spoken
one can trust for truth
yet they’re sincere in approach
you’d want to call them couth
Al Jazeera
like Rachel, Kiev Bob
says nothing of the truth
yet with sincerity of faith
one thinks they are astute
Al Jazeera
if children weren’t dying
if soldiers by half million

Get Honest

Honesty
I see here in my presentation
a purpose here innate
please in your review
determine how you hate
hate so much honesty
in a simple form of twist
contribution toward disorder
meant for us unknowing twits
Benny Ganz a moderate
Blinken wanting peace
Taiwan belongs to China by U.S. Law & Treaties
but we send guns to their needs
Russia full scale invasion
(we know that's not true)
Nord Stream not blown up by us
NATO’s good for peace because
it’s only us we trust
Gulf of Tonkin really happened
3,000,000 there we did kill
along with 1,000,000 more

200 Civilians Killed to Rescue 4 "Fake Hostages" ????
Sullivan says we helped them kill
civilians in a wayward throng
nobody guilty by the courts drawn
yet children slaughtered by us of course
U.S. War Crime
4 dubious “hostages” fat
what should we think of that
how could they be fed, exercise
in those caverns hidden away
U.S. War Crime - Al Jazeera
no diplomats in our employ
no calls to those we don’t employ
to further evil in our time
as we commit genocide recognized

Emotion of Disgust
(c)2013 Bob Atkinson
Poetry Critic Bob Atkinson
softly settled to my ears
those words I wished to hear
brought me to a higher level
when written well, so treasured
waiting patiently among
the throng of citizens, no guns
a gentle lot of doers well
those who praise art and tales
standing up to do their best
to settle for all the rest of us
a trumpet sound of sculpted tones
ones with meaning held upon
a field of life, pages open
emotional tags, sometimes spoken
carry me to advanced nirvana
please read good words, not trivia
when they speak these honored verses
so well r ..read more
